(The) Eagles' fifth and most successful studio album was Hotel California (1976). It reached No. 1 in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden; but it stalled at No. 2 in the UK. It went two times diamond (26 times platinum) in the USA, six times platinum in the UK, and nine times platinum in Australia.
